After a painless flight across the Tasman a cheerful NZ Customs Officer chose to review how well I had packed my suitcase.
He even kindly washed the soles of my hiking boots!
Fortunately he didn’t twig to the fact I had a carton of 10 packs of 25 smokes when the Duty Free limit was 200 cigarettes.
I’d collected a phone, collected a car, found my accommodation and was all good to go by 4.30pm. So I thought the Christchurch Gondola may be worth a quick visit. It takes you from sea level to the crest of the Port Hills that separate Christchurch from Lyttleton Harbour.
The photos are not good – this time the excuse is the 65kmh horizontal winds that blew the Gondolas and everything else around.
