Scope of Journey

There are 6 prime destinations that may provide the opportunity for satisfying the quest:

1. Christchurch - the point of arrival and departure (and a picturesque area in itself).
2. Lake Tekapo - at the foot of the Southern Alps.
3. Milford Sound - allegedly the 8th wonder of the world.
4. Queenstown - having arrived there at dusk 30 years ago and left early the next morning I need to confirm if it really is the most beautiful place I've seen.
5. Glacier Country - for an experience unavailable to land bound Australians.
6. Kaikoura - reputedly a magical setting with year-round whale residents.

The schedule is to leave Melbourne on the 31st of August and return on the 19th of September.
